It's not Climate Change –

President Obama has been touring Alaska, seeing first-hand the degradation of glaciers, and the plight of sea-level communities like Kivalina, Alaska.

    

Now we have the US Army Corps of Engineers, who prove the threat:

“Forget new homes – even the digging of fresh graves has become a pointless exercise, meaning the bodies of the recently departed must now be airlifted back to the mainland which, unlike Kivalina, isn’t expected to be underwater in 10 years.

That grim prediction comes courtesy of the US Army Corps of Engineers, and with it has come even greater hardship for the town’s 400-odd residents, who are about to finally succumb to the environment they have parried with for thousands of years, as is their birthright as Inupiat Eskimos.”

One would hope that their predictions will be more precise than those about the levees in New Orleans from 10 years ago.

Once we reach the global tipping point (which may be far less than the reluctantly agreed 2 degrees Celsius at Copenhagen), we will be unleashing devastation on a scale never seen before.

Wild seas in the Mediterranean have caused incalculable loss of life:

   

When the sea-levels rise as predicted by 97% of the world’s climate scientists, we will have tragic scenes like this all through the Maldives, Vanuatu, Fiji, Kivalina, Holland, Bangladesh, St Tropez, and everywhere on Earth that sits at around sea-level.

We need to stop carbon pollution, immediately – even if we do, it will take a thousand years to get the carbon pollution out of the atmosphere, and we still may not survive.  The time to act is right now!

There is no greater heart-rending image of the impending Climate Chaos that that of the starving Polar Bear:

This photograph was recently taken  by Kerstin Langenberger at Svalbard, Norway, where you normally find beautiful, playful and photogenic Polar Bears.  This poor creature is starving to death, a direct result of Global Warming – the more open water, the further that bears have to swim to find an ice-floe with suitable foodstuffs.

Surely we humans owe our fellow creatures the right to life without starvation?  End fossil fuel use right now, before it is too late!  Carbon pollution is killing all life on Earth.

A recent report suggests that hurricanes may well become a permanent feature of our climate:

“This year’s peak hurricane season will be longer than usual, beginning in fall and lasting for the remainder of time,” said NWS senior meteorologist Robert Doherty, adding that citizens should take appropriate precautions by keeping enough candles and bottled water on hand to last the rest of their lives.

We need to seriously stop all carbon pollution immediately, otherwise we will reach that tipping-point of no return.

In the lead-up to Paris COP 2015 in December, it has become very evident that the forces of Capital have arrayed themselves against us.

We all know that Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Tobacco and the assorted denizens of the MIC are pulling out all the stops, and that they are throwing billions of dollars in a fraudulent attempt to derail the worldwide grass-root popular movement for curtailing carbon pollution.

We have decided to publish our thoughts, not as Climate Scientists (which we are not), but as socially and politically aware members of the voting public, and hopefully our opinions will resonate with those other thinking members of the community, who can put two and two together.

Firstly, repeating that we are not Climate Scientists – and we have no need to investigate the scientific intricacies of carbon pollution, as it has already been done for us!  There are thousands of peer-reviewed scientists who have examined the facts and the science, and at least 97% of them have concluded that humankind has produced dangerous anthropogenic warming that – unless reversed – will cause significant chaotic changes to the ecosystem.  The science is god-damn settled!

Those who deny the settled science (whom we call “The Deniers”) are simply heretics to the modern consensus, but being backed by billions of dollars from Big Oil et al, they are a powerful force indeed.  We are at war, fighting for our very lives, up against a huge, powerful opposition.

Secondly – the name of this blog: “It’s not Climate Change – It’s Climate Chaos!” Simple words, but basically speaking Truth to Power.  The Deniers have (with their billions of fossil fuel dollars) totally destroyed the “Global Warming” narrative (even though carbon pollution warming is the root cause of our problems).  Worse than that, the Deniers have belittled the entire concept of “Climate Change”, by inundating us with propaganda that the climate ALWAYS changes, and treating us like Luddites.

No, the only means of fighting back against the Capital backed Deniers, is to mark out the playing field – namely, that humanity is facing a likely extinction event of CLIMATE CHAOS unless we take heed of the warnings, and fight for our very lives against the forces of Capital arrayed against us.

Finally, we need to take control of the narrative and bring the fight back against those who seek to frankly kill us.  CLIMATE CHAOS is a term that most people can readily understand and appreciate.  Strange climactic events are constantly breaking out, causing panic and confusion, which can all be sheeted home to the greatest of all crimes against humanity, that of carbon pollution.

If we can do the slightest thing to assist in this battle to the death, we will do so.

P.S. As this is a very emotional argument, we understand the need for people to occasionally let off steam now and then, and swear their fucking asses off!
